零（ゼロ）と零（レイ）の違い

零（ゼロ）は零（レイ）の英語読みと勘違いされがちだが、厳密には意味が違う。零（ゼロ）はまったくない状態を指すが、零（レイ）はわずかであることを指す。

たとえば天気予報で降水確率が０％なのに雨が降ることがあるが、零％はわずかに雨が降る可能性があることを指すので間違っていない。天気予報において降水確率をゼロ％とは絶対に言わない。
